Guide2track S.àr.l. is a young and small company, specialized in the tracking of conveyor belts. Core activities are the development and implementation of the Centrack belt tracking system and advice and engineering in the area of belt tracking in general, focussing on both steel and non-steel belts (e.g. PVC, TPU).
It has been seen in the past, that even though the already existing ("conventional") tracking techniques being highly developed, strong misunderstanding exists on how applying these techniques and which technique is most optimal for a certain application. This often leads to erroneous planning of machines and tracking issues in the field, which can result in unplanned production interruptions and increased cost. Also, in applications which require very precise tracking and especially for wide belts combined with short roller spacing, conventional tracking means often cannot meet the tracking requirements. Therefore, Guide2track now offers the Centrack tracking system:
A conveyor belt tracking system based on a completely different working principle than found up to now in the field.
The Centrack system was invented and developed by Guide2track in cooperation with H. Clerx, author of the book "Tracking systems for conveyor belts - Existing systems and new developments" (www.bookconveyorbelttracking.com). In this book, first time published in 1997, some potential design lay-outs and basic functional test results of such a system had already been presented. However, during the recent years, the design of this system has been greatly upgraded to increase mechanical system robustness and decrease cost. Due to the different working principle, this system works as well for very short and wide belts, even much shorter than square belts. The system is compatible with standard flat (steel/non-steel) belts, with or without holes, with/without tracking profiles attached to the belt (e.g. v-ropes).
No edge sensing and no electronics are needed to track the belt. A minimum belt tension is not required to track the belt.
A market research study (results presented in the book), held under 100 companies using conveyor belt systems, has indicated that a belt that doesn't wander transversely is of huge importance to companies. Also this factor has motivated Guide2track to further develop the Centrack system.
Guide2track is specialized in belt tracking, not in supplying complete conveyor systems. The know-how is, apart from the many years of practical experience in our team, strongly driven by theoretical understanding and mathematical description of the physical phenomena occurring in a belt system. This helps prediction of the tracking behavior in new to be built and non-standard systems.
Besides of development and implementation of the Centrack system, we offer advice, problem solving and engineering on existing belt tracking issues, also concerning traditional methods. Depending on the case, this might vary from a single adjustment of only one (but the right) setting to modification or replacing components, indeed always first striving to the former.
